The IMET KS 502 is a double column semiautomatic bandsaw designed as the perfect tool for professionals cutting bars, tubes, profiles, and beams. Engineered specifically for mechanical structures and carpentry works, it provides the versatility to perform miter cuts up to 60° left and right. The machine features a rigid electrowelded sawframe and a 6° canted blade to optimize material penetration and performance on large sections.

General

THE KS MITERING ADVANTAGE

The KS range represents a unique class of machines designed to optimize the miter cutting workflow.

  • Single Position Mitering: These are the only machines in their class that can cut both left and right by positioning and closing the material vise once. Once the piece is placed, the user can rotate the arc and set the angle without opening the vise or moving the bar.
  • Rotating Work Surface: The machine features a rotating work surface integral with the arc, which optimizes material support at all angles during processing.
  • Transversal Vise Movement: The vise slides transversally on linear guides on the working place with a fast approach system and an integrated pressure regulator.

Features

  • Angle Cutting Precision: Cutting accuracy is ensured by a graduated scale on the work surface and automatic stops at 45° left, 0°, and 45° right. For maximum accuracy, the machine is equipped with a system for detecting degrees of cut away from the center.
  • 6° Canted Sawframe: The blade is inclined at a 6° angle to improve penetration, reduce strain on the blade, and optimize cutting times even on full materials.
  • Mobile Control Console: An independent, mobile console equipped with control LEDs for blade tension, guard status, and motor thermal check. It allows the operator to regulate descent speed and penetration force.
  • End-Cut Management: The operator can choose from three end-of-cycle options: bow ascent with a stopped blade, ascent with a moving blade, or end of cycle without bow ascent.
  • Material Detection Device: A mechanical sensing device provides a fast blade approach by automatically detecting the first cut point and managing the end-cut via a microswitch.
  • Blade Alignment: Carbide inserts and supplementary bearings on special linear guides optimize blade alignment. A motorized cleaning brush is included for blade maintenance.
