The Mecal Atlas is a robust 4-Axis Profile Machining Centre engineered for large-scale applications. With its extended bed length and wider clamping capacity, it effortlessly handles oversized extrusions ideal for manufacturing curtain walls and commercial aluminum doors. Its exceptional versatility allows for unique configurations, including options for processing polyurethane garage door panels and machining all six sides of a profile.

General

The Mecal Atlas is the definitive 4-Axis Profile Machining Centre for projects that exceed the capacity of standard machines. Purpose-built with an extended working area and wider clamping capabilities, the Atlas is specifically designed to handle the larger extrusions used in curtain wall systems, aluminum doors, and other architectural or industrial components.

Unmatched Configurability: The true strength of the Atlas lies in its exceptional versatility and the ability to tailor it to highly specific production needs. It can be configured in several ways to solve unique challenges:

Panel & Assembled Door Processing: The Atlas can be equipped with an extremely wide clamping capacity and specialized vertical hold-downs, allowing it to securely process flat garage door panels or even fully assembled aluminum doors.

6-Sided Machining: An optional configuration with innovative rotating clamps enables the workpiece to be turned, giving the spindle access to the bottom face of the profile. This allows for true 6-sided machining, completing complex parts in a single cycle.

Custom-Tailored Performance: The Atlas is available with two different automatic clamp positioning systems and numerous options for the spindle, tool magazine capacity, and specialized clamp accessories, ensuring the machine is perfectly matched to your production requirements.

Clamping

To manage its wide range of applications, the Mecal Atlas offers a choice between two advanced automatic clamp positioning systems. The clamps are designed to provide robust and secure holding for everything from standard profiles to oversized curtain wall extrusions and assembled door panels, ensuring precision and stability during complex machining operations.

Programming

Programming the Atlas is handled through the intuitive “Mecal CAD/CAM3D” interface, which simplifies the setup of complex jobs on large or unconventionally shaped parts. An optional STEP/IGES driver "CADLink" is available for seamless integration with third-party 3D design files, streamlining the engineering workflow for any configuration.
