General

The Mecal Ariel is a 4-Axis Aluminum Extrusion CNC designed for manufacturers who need to process longer profiles with high precision. Its full-gantry structure delivers consistent accuracy and stability along the entire working length. Available in various standard and custom-built lengths, the Ariel is a capable solution for a broad spectrum of architectural and industrial aluminum extrusion applications.

The classic 4-axis configuration, providing a robust and efficient solution for processing large-envelope profiles. The Ariel-4 is available with numerous spindle options and a choice of two automatic clamp positioning systems: the gantry-driven DPM system, and the advanced MMI system.

Spindle and Tool Changer

The Ariel features a high-performance 8.5 kW electro-spindle with an HSK 63 F tool holder system for robust and precise machining. For more demanding applications, spindle upgrades to 10 kW and 15 kW are available. It is equipped with a 12-position tool changer, mounted directly on the moving gantry to reduce tool change times.

Clamping

The machine comes standard with automatic clamp positioning to ensure accurate setups. Customers can choose between two systems: the DPM system, where the machine's head sequentially drives each clamp into position, or the high-speed MMI system, where each clamp is independently motorized to move to its position simultaneously.

Programming

Programming is managed through a standard Windows 10 based PC controller running Mecal’s intuitive CAD/CAM 3D graphic software. For seamless integration with third-party design files, an optional CADLink file converter is also available.
