The Mecal Nike is an Entry-Level Aluminium Extrusion CNC Machine engineered for streamlined operation and efficient production. Featuring advanced 4 servo axis control and an automatic clamp positioning system, this Small Footprint Profile Machining Centre simplifies complex tasks. It seamlessly handles aluminium, light alloys, and PVC extrusions, providing an ideal solution for small-mid size fabricators. The Nike is the perfect fit for aluminium and vinyl windows, aluminum doors components, light fixtures, and various simple extrusion processing needs.

General

The Mecal Nike is an entry-level aluminium extrusion CNC machine featuring 4-axis servo control. Designed as a compact footprint profile machining centre, it efficiently processes aluminium, vinyl, and light alloy extrusions.

It comes standard with a 3.8 kW, 18,000 rpm electro-spindle equipped with an ISO 30 tool holder system and a 5-tool magazine, with an optional side-mounted magazine expanding the capacity to 8 tools.

The A-axis—defined as the rotation of the beam with the clamping system—offers a range of ±90° along the X-axis, allowing for precise machining at any intermediate angle. Drilling, milling, and tapping operations can be performed on three sides of the profile, and the machine also supports end-notching using a dedicated cutter.

Two pneumatically operated reference stops, located at each end of the rotating beam, enable two-piece processing in a single cycle, while also accommodating profiles longer than the machine’s stated working capacity.

Clamping
The Nike is equipped with Mecal’s DPM automatic clamp positioning system. These CNC head-driven clamps move sequentially to pre-calculated positions, ensuring fast and safe material securing while minimizing setup time.

Programming

The Mecal Nike is powered by Mecal CAD/CAM3D software, offering an intuitive, user-friendly interface with clear visual feedback. For advanced integration with external design environments, the optional STEP/IGES driver “CADLink” enables seamless conversion of third-party 3D design files into executable Mecal programs.
