As Mecal’s smallest solution, the Mecal Aydo stands out as an Economy CNC Profile Machining Centre for working with aluminum and PVC extrusions. Its compact design offers a Small Footprint Extrusion CNC Machine, making it an ideal choice for manufacturers with floor space restrictions. The Mecal Aydo is a perfect fit for aluminum and vinyl windows, aluminum doors components, light fixtures and other simple aluminum extrusion processing needs.

General

The Mecal Aydo, an Economy CNC Profile Machining Centre, offers a small footprint design with an economical 3+1 axis configuration.

This setup includes a pneumatic rotating beam with a clamping system for secure extrusion holding, and it is able to rotate the workpiece ±90°. Operators can manually adjust a mechanical stop for intermediate angles, allowing for machining on any surface generated by the workpiece’s rotation using standard tools.

The machine comes standard with a robust 3.8 kW, 18,000 rpm electro-spindle with an ISO 30 tool holder system and a 5-tool magazine. It can work on three sides of the profile using a drill, milling bit, or tap, and perform end-notching operations with a milling cutter.

Two standard pneumatically operated reference stops are located at each end of the rotating beam. The reference stops together with the purchase of the optional side openings allow to process parts longer than 3000mm (10’).

Clamping

This Aluminum Profile Machining Centre is equipped with manual clamps. The software displays the clamp positions on the screen for the operator to adjust, after which the machine verifies their correctness by means of the clamp detection sensor.

Programming

The Mecal Aydo Profile Machining Center comes with “Mecal CAD/CAM3D” graphic software. An optional STEP/IGES driver “CADLink” is available for converting third party 3D design files into Mecal program files.
