YILMAZ SK 500

General

The Yilmaz SK 500 is an automatic saw designed for the high-speed, repetitious 90° cutting of aluminum extrusion and other nonferrous materials. The machine's feeding and cutting process is fully automatic, controlled by a PLC unit and servo motors to achieve a positioning accuracy of +/- 0.1mm.

The operation begins as a servo-driven feeder automatically advances the profile to the specified length. The operator can enter the cutting length, speed, height, and quantity directly via the 7" color touch screen or by transferring a cutting list from a text file (csv format) via a USB memory stick. During the cut, the workpiece is secured by both horizontal and vertical pneumatic clamps.

The SK 500 includes several features to protect the material and ensure a high-quality finish. An automatically raising table roller and the retracting back fence of the feeder prevent the profile from rubbing against the back fence and the table, therefore preventing scratches on the profile surfaces. Another key feature is that the work table separates from the material before the blade retracts, which prevents back-cutting, improves the surface finish quality, and extends the life of the saw blade.
