The IMET KTECH 502 is an advanced automatic double miter bandsaw for structural steel, engineered for professionals seeking high-volume batch production and extreme precision. This double-column system features an integrated brushless motorized feeder and automatic sawframe rotation for miter cuts up to 60° left and right. Managed by an intuitive 10″ touch screen HMI, it synchronizes a 4-axis control system to optimize complex carpentry workflows with full Industry 4.0 readiness

General

ADVANCED NC MITERING & FEEDING

The KTECH 502 platform integrates heavy-duty stability with high-speed automation.

  • 4-Axis Synchronized Control: The CNC system manages the material feeder, sawframe rotation, vice locking, and lateral vice movement. This ensures the bow and vises are always perfectly positioned in relation to the programmed cutting angle.
  • High-Precision Angle Reading: Unlike standard machines, the cutting angle reading is taken on the external part of the radius rather than at the machine center. This offset reading provides maximum accuracy for critical miter cuts.
  • Servo Feeder: The standard single stroke is 2000 mm (78.74 in), powered by a brushless motor for high-speed indexing and high-precision positioning. Optional strokes of 3000 mm and 6000 mm are available.

Features

  • 10" Touch Screen HMI: Allows users to set up to 99 cutting programs and 30 cutting lines per program, each with different quantities, lengths, and angles. Includes an internal material library for automatic parameter setting.
  • 6° Canted Sawframe: The blade is inclined at a 6° angle to reduce strain on the band, improve material penetration, and shorten cutting times while extending tool life.
  • Rotating Working Table: The wide table rotates in unison with the sawframe, preventing incisions or damage to the plate during angled cuts and providing full material support both before and after the blade.
  • Automatic Detection System: Features a mechanical sensor to detect the first cut point and a microswitch on the mobile blade guide for end-cut detection. This facilitates a rapid approach to the material to minimize "air cutting".
  • Sawframe Downfeed Options: While standard descent is hydraulic, a ballscrew and servomotor downfeed is available as an option for even greater control over the penetration rate.
  • Automatic Length Correction: The machine monitors piece size via an encoder and automatically corrects cutting lengths to maintain the highest tolerances.
