The Mecal TDC 622 Edgemaster is a 5-axis Compound Double Miter Saw designed for high-precision cutting of large aluminum profiles, such as those used in curtain walls. It features two 600 mm saw blades on heads that can electronically tilt and rotate for complex compound angles. The machine’s unique compound blade feed motion, combining pivoting and linear movements, gives it the largest cutting capacity on the market.

General

The Mecal TDC 622 Edgemaster is an up-stroke double miter compound saw ideal for industrial and architectural applications involving large aluminum extrusions, such as curtain walls. The machine is built on a 5-axis CNC platform, with brushless servo motors controlling the positioning of the mobile head, as well as the tilt and rotation of both cutting heads. It is available in 5-meter and 6-meter useful cutting lengths and includes a special function to process oversize lengths up to approximately twice the machine's stated capacity.

The Edgemaster's key advantage comes from the advanced compound motion of the cutting heads. For maximum cutting capacity, the machine uses a dynamic cutting cycle that combines the standard pivoting motion with a linear forward-and-back blade feed, achieving the widest cut available on the market. To ensure a perfect cut, a dynamic profile back support system automatically adjusts its position according to the cutting angle for the best possible material backing. The clamping system is also linked to the angular position of the heads, automatically setting the optimal clamping position as the blades are adjusted.
