MECAL GARDA

General

The Mecal Garda is a heavy-duty double miter saw designed for high-precision cutting in applications like windows and doors, curtain walls, and other industrial profile processing. The machine is built on an electro-welded steel base for maximum rigidity and features a stationary left cutting unit with a motorized right head for accurate positioning. It is available in 4, 5 and 6-meter versions, with longer lengths available on demand, and includes a software function for oversize cuts up to approximately twice the machine's stated capacity.

The Garda utilizes a back-to-front linear blade feed, a motion that allows architectural profiles to be processed while resting on an unexposed surface, protecting visible finishes and allowing better clamping possibilities. The blade feed itself is driven by a hydro-pneumatic cylinder for a smooth and powerful cutting stroke.

The machine's primary versatility is defined by its tilting options. The capability of tilting both inward and outward offers flexibility in placing the profile in an optimum orientation, therefore possibly eliminating fixtures. The standard configuration features pneumatic tilting of the cutting heads to pre-selected angles (22.5°, 45°, 90°, 135°), with intermediate angles set using manual mechanical stops. For ultimate control, an optional 3-axis servo-driven system is available, allowing the cutting heads to tilt automatically to any angle within the range.
