Thanks to the 150m/min X axis rapid speed and the dual zone, the Taurus is the most performant compact 5 axis CNC machining centre of Mecal’s range. It features 5 axis (X, Y, Z, A and C), 10 kW liquid cooled electro-spindle, 12+1 tools magazine and automatic clamp positioning system. The Taurus has been designed to work on aluminum, alloys and light gage steel. It is an ideal solution for production of aluminum windows, light fixtures, automotive parts and other complex aluminum extrusion processing.

  • 5 axis CNC machining centre that can work 6 sides of the profile including milling, drilling, taping, blade cuts and notches.
  • Axes drive system is consisting of a servo controller and a brushless DC servomotor. Position is tracked by an incremental encoder integrated in the drive motor
  • 4 machining fields and 2 independent zones with separate doors that allow the machine to be operated in pendulum mode with one piece in each zone or two pieces on each zone depending on the piece length. 
  • Work piece clamps slide on precision linear guide rails
  • By using the disc cutter, it is possible to carry out end-milling operations on both the ends of the work piece
  • Milling operations are performed with linear and circular interpolation of the X-Y-Z axes
